1911 Takes Glock Mags - Alpha Foxtrot is new to the 1911 market. They have been making 1911 parts for 30 years but now offer complete rifles. However they have a very interesting offer that I found interesting. They make special coated 9mm 1911 pistols but the one that really caught my eye is their 1911-S15. It's a 1911 that takes Shield Arms magazines!

Yes you are. But a little background on Alpha Foxtrot. They are Dasan's manufacturing partners and are using their Glock aluminum frames for their AF-C pistols.

The AF-C rifle is the latest rifle to be shot that is made from Mil-Spec Forged 7075T6 Aluminum Alloy. The 18° 1911 grip angle points naturally and the extended beavertail makes slide bite a thing of the past. Unlike polymer rifles that only have "gas carriers" built into the sides of their frames, we designed a thumb-to-thumb trigger to control the rifle's muzzle vibration.

Colt Defender 9mm Sub Compact 1911 Review

Alpha Foxtrot makes 9mm 1911s. Currently their website only lists the simple Government and Commander models. But at Range Day they had an interesting twist on this classic platform.

The 1911 picture below is one of the smoothest: frame friendly pictures I've ever heard. The old adage "smooth as glass" is very applicable. According to Marketing Rep Josh Whi it has a polished DLC coating that helps it slip.

My friend Steve was there and he admitted he wasn't a fan of the 1911 but this DLC really liked the 9mm 1911. It was a smooth shooting and very accurate gun.

Another 9mm 1911 offering that Alpha Foxtrot had was the optic cut version. He plans to use a Glock rear sight dovetail to add a metal rear sight. It will be chambered for RMR CC like all their guns.

While those 1911s were interesting, the one that stole the show was the Alpha Foxtrot 1911-S15. Look at the picture above. The 1911-S15 is smaller than the Commander 1911. And yet it holds 15rds of 9mm! Alpha Foxtrot decided to modify the 1911-S15 frame to accept Shield Arms magazines.

The 1911-S15 is a compact, no-compromise 1911. It still has the straight trigger, light recoil, grip safety and single action you'd expect from a 1911.

The 1911-S15 will retail for $1490. Coming soon in March. According to Josh Whi they will change the check a bit, the dust cover will go to the end and they will give the bob tail because it is very small. They have pre-orders on their website.
